This giant Tetris game was created using "eleven custom-built circuit boards, a twelve-story data network, a personal computer running Linux, a radio-frequency video game controller, and over 10,000 Christmas lights". It took over five months of planning and can be seen off Interstate 95 in Rhode Island. Video clip after the jump.

Does anybody here notice that almost the same thing was already done a few years ago, even twice, by the Chaos Computer Club in Berlin? They built a giant display out of a house (18x8) and gave people the possibility to actually _play_ Pong on it; via Cell phone! You could also send in movies, from which a selection was shown.

Hey! This was done bigger and better back in 1995!
TU Delft, in the Netherlands - we had 15 floors - not 12. You can see it at:

And just to show how old this is, it's using frames!

Deadly Computer Blog - Tetris!
[...] Just another reason why Tetris is the single greatest game of all time. It has found its way onto everything immaginable, no video game system is complete until Tetris come out for it. And now Tetris has bridged the gap, and gone to things normal games cant go! I originally wanted to wait till i was able to figure out how to add video to the blog, but, i cant figure that out, and this is damn cool. It can be seen off of Interstate 95 in Rhode Island, not too far from me, i may go visit, afterall, i am a Tetris nut. read more (teche blog) [...]

Rhody Rules
This is REAL! It's called La Bastille and was done on the Sciences Library at Brown University in 2000. It is not people turning lights on and off inside the building and it is not a camera trick. And when it was running, it was the largest working tetris game in the world. It opened on April 14, and finished on April 22. And this is one reason why Rhode Island is the greatest state in the union.
