Xbox 360 HD-DVD Interview

GT asks this burning question: "Is Microsoft's HD-DVD drive the answer to Sony's Blu-ray?" Watch the full interview after the jump. According to Microsoft:
Independent research of gamers and players shows HDTV owners prefer HD DVD two to one over Blu-ray. Only HD DVD offers a 'combo' disk: DVD on one side allows playback on all your existing DVD players in your home or car

This Xbox 360 salesperson is either blatantly lying or is completely incompetent. He states that Blu-ray is old technology, 10 yrs, etc. And that it uses Mpeg-2 as a codec. He even states that the Mpeg-2 is the same as mp3. WHAT???!!! WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!! He has no idea about Mpeg-4, or H.264 and that they are both (including many other codecs) used on Blu-ray. Also, he never answered the question why the Xbox uses DVI instead of HDMI- as if having one small cable with uncompressed 1080p HD video AND DTS/Dolby 5.1 audio is a drawback. He commented on the size of the add-on HD-DVD player and compared the size to a Blu-ray player. Ughhhh. PLEASE! One Samsung, 1st generation player out there and he makes this stmt?!! Does he know that there are laptops with Blu-ray??? Do I need to explain how stupid these remarks are? Microsoft is playing catch-up to the PS3 before the PS3 is even out. The interviewer asks the Microsoft peddler what the advantages are to having this set-up rather than one stand alone player. He answers by saying that it keeps the size of the "box" down. I think he is needs to finish middle school... And lose the extra chromosome.

Technology is an amazing thing... Meaning the XBox360 is getting out of date quickly (needing addons). *Personally i think sony are crap not a ps3 fanboy for the reccord. I would by an XBox360 over an upcoming Ps3, i would buy a HD-DVD before a DRM infested Blueray disk. This guy has no f-ing clue.. and what he does know that is of any use he cannot mention because he signed a NDA, and spends half of the interview covering his a**. I totally agree with kwesi!! WTF?!!!!!
