XBox Controller Hack

Here's a first: an XBox controller hack that lets you control it with another controller (PSP, Nintendo DS, etc.). The game interface uses relays to activate solenoids, which than press the buttons. Video clip after the jump.
How this works: The XBOX buttons are physically pressed by arms (stiff wire) attached to servos that are controlled by a Basic Stamp 2. The BS2 is controlled by a gumstix over a serial port. The gumstix talks udp and accepts commands. So if you want to control an xbox, you basically have to talk a simple udp protocol to the gumstix.

One of the stupidest things I have ever seen...and there are a lot of stupid things out there. This one ranks in the top 5 for sure.

Thats stupid, I thought u could actually play some Halo with an SNES Advantage, not just press the buttons.

it would be more impressive to rip apart the controler, and rewire the insides and put it into a totally different custom shell :P, thats what i would do

Not to mention you forfit the pressure sensitve buttons, But relays to trigger solinoids !? Holy freaking time delay, mech relays don't fully click for 40ms and solinoids are over 80ms. The extra power this thing uses is staggering too, upto 750ma to trigger just mech 1 relay. This could not be any MORE useless.

thx for flaming flagon, I make one drunken post and of course I find the troll to rip on me. the grammer police are out in full force, please let me proofread this post so it meets your standards. ok, seems good. but, yes, an elementary school student could have made this "hack".

I guess you could program it to do you fav street fighter moves but other than that its usless. Come on a wiring up a MAME cabinet is hard than that.
