While you may already know that people from different cultures eat different things, but photographer Peter Menzel decided to capture this in his series: "What I Eat: Around The World In 80 Diets." Starting off, we have astronaut Leland Melvin who consumes 2,700-calories per day on average. Designing food for consumption in space is difficult. Foods must meet a number of criteria to be considered fit for space. First, the food must be physiologically appropriate, specifically, it must be nutritious, easily digestible, and palatable.
