"Zune" vs. iPod Comparison Shots

Jake Ludington was fortunate enough to get some "face time" with Microsoft's brand new "Zune" player this past weekend and snapped up some great iPod 5.1G comparison shots. Few more pics after the jump.
The Zune weighs considerably less than the iPod, although I didn't have a scale on hand to get exact comparison. It felt like the Zune was more comparable to my Cingular 2125 phone, while the iPod weighs quite a bit more

I still don't understand why you would need wifi on something like that... navigation would be a pain...

@John: Why do you say that? wifi connection speed has nothing to do with the device that uses the technology! If WiFi is fast enough for, lets say a laptop it is too for a little device like a Zune.

The Wi-Fi feature isn't meant for browsing the Internet - it's there to share media between Zunes. "Wireless Zune-to-Zune sharing: Zune lets you spontaneously share selected full-length sample tracks of your favorite songs, homemade recordings, playlists or pictures with friends wirelessly, device to device.1 You can listen to any song you receive up to three times in three days. And if you like a song you hear and want to buy it, you can flag it right on your device to easily find it later."

“Zune” vs. iPod Comparison Shots Here are some comparison pictures of the ipod video and the Microsoft Zune which seems extremely big .. hopefully its features will at least make up for the bulkyness..

still, wifi is not for browsing. its for sharing (wich microsoft has infected with drm so only idiots still bying cds in the store without seeing any problems with anything will use it.

the zune is only a bit bigger, but it is lighter, has a bigger screen and is better than the iPod, for the same price(most comparable iPod 30GB). Im buying one.

Humm. .the "zune" is looking much BETTER than I had predicted. But still I can't accept the FACT the Ipod NANO. . .is. . .how do I say this. . .exstroidanary and percion like the ipods Screen Resolution is good the 4gig is a nice touch like "5000" songs nice L.O.L . .yeah. anyways. .pplpss I just wanted to SAY that MICROsoft is just trying to MAKE an EXTRA $$$ dollar now and even with the XBOX 360 in play. with the apple Ipod you can't go WRONG it is a good deal and the ZUNE is just going to make the IPOD NANO CHEAPERER lol yeah. that is just what most of us want money DROP. . .wellll g2g bye pplps thanks for reading this INFO.

for those you you who think this is going to demolish the ipod, don't get your hopes up. the zune is not the device to wipe out the ipod, but its something else out there for you anticonformists who think having an ipod makes you an idiot. personally i'm sticking with the ipod, basically cuz if you bring up some of microsofts products such as the 360 they suck, too many glitches in them., because they push their products out too early.
