I believe that they unconsciously defined the crux of the mac/pc debate here which is the interoperability of various hardware. Apple gives you a pleasant operating system with good reliability but no freedom to upgrade or enhance. Microsoft (which is not a pc but beside the point) has the unenviable task of trying to integrate the world. More freedom but more pains.
