Not all full-time artists focus on realism, but for Mark Crilley, that is just one of his many talents. He started a video series that will have rubbing your eyes trying to figure out which object is real. Even more surprising, it doesn’t take him long at all to draw up a photo-realistic object. In three videos Mark is drawing a mushroom, a crumpled paper page and a torn playing card. After watching a 2 minute video it gets hard to know which of the objects is real.

In a separate video Crilley shows the tools he’s using to create such realistic images – most of the time it’s just a pencil, some watercolor paint, a pastel and white gouache to add highlights.
