Now here’s a nifty DIY project that makes good use of all those 3.5-inch floppy disks you have laying around. Synthetic Human Skin Laptop Bags

This expensive ($601 USD), but striking laptop bag is made from synthetic human skin. The “Skinbag” is shock absorbant, has 1 cm padding (fabric lining), and 1 side pocket for all your accessories. It measures approx. 39 x 29 cm or 14 x 11 in. and doubles as a regular carrying bag.

Functional Boombox Messenger Bag

Cereallad created this strange yet functional boombox messenger bag for his iBook. Here’s how he made it:

I hollowed out the boombox, added hinges and clasps, created a foam interior, created a strap attachment, and… well, attached a strap. Now it holds my ibook and one or two other books. With rudimentary electronics skills, I wired the boombox to play music from the laptop or from any ipod/walkman/etc that you place inside. I added a small amplifier that I found on some toy speakers to increase the sound volume and quality

Telephone Bag

On the outside, the “Telephone Bag” looks like any other novelty purse/bag, with the exception of the receiver, cord, and keypad. It’s actually a fully functional telephone, just plug it into any phone jack, and the receiver doubles as a handle. The bag measures 11″h x 10″w and comes in shiny red vinyl. Here’s another interesting iPod accessory; the 1.7-pound “Felcidade Groove Handbag” has built-in speakers and a special clear plastic compartment for the iPod or iPod Mini.
