Canadian artist Maskull Lasserre spent much of his childhood in South Africa, eventually returning to Canada for school; receiving his BFA in Visual Art and Philosophy from Mount Allison and his MFA in Sculpture from Concordia. He completed the mind-blowing project you see above in 2011, where he skillfully carved a spine into the handle of an axe.
