Pixar just released the first Toy Story 5 teaser today and we’re back in Bonnie’s room where Woody, Buzz and the gang are in for their biggest challenge yet. A frog-shaped smart tablet named Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee, has arrived and the old guard of pull-string cowboys and space rangers are in trouble.
Andrew Stanton, who directed Finding Nemo and Wall-E, is back to direct this one along with co-director Kenna Harris and producer Lindsey Collins. Stanton also wrote the script himself, he’s co-written every Toy Story movie. Tom Hanks is back as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz, Joan Cusack yee-haws as Jessie, Tony Hale conveys Forky’s wide-eyed fright, and Blake Clark voices Slinky Dog. New voices include Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants and Ernie Hudson as Combat Carl.

- FULLY POSEABLE MOVIE ICON – An intricate, articulated design helps builders recreate Luxo Jr.'s unique bouncing, hopping, and rotating movements
The official synopsis is simple: toys meet tech as kids shift their attention to electronics. The teaser shows the gang getting back together only for a delivery box to trigger terror—Forky freezes in fear—before Lilypad lights up and says, “Hi, there—I’m Lilypad. Let’s play!” Woody and Buzz exchange wide-eyed glances as the tablet’s glow pulls focus away from physical play.

The first Toy Story was released in 1995 as the world’s first totally computer-animated picture. Disney acquired Pixar in 2006. Four films later the series has grossed over $3.3 billion worldwide, with Toy Story 3 and 4 each making a billion and winning Best Animated Feature Oscars. This is Pixar’s 31st feature.

Recent Pixar films give some context. Inside Out 2 made nearly $1.5 billion in 2024, Elio made $152 million. But sequels bring in the crowds and Toy Story is Pixar’s bread and butter. Hoppers, an original story, is out in March 2026 before this one opens June 19.
