Fossibot F113 Rugged Smartphone
Fossibot builds phones for people who push devices to their limits, and the F113 takes that to the extreme. This thing weighs 500 g (1.1 lbs), with a body made of reinforced plastic and rubber that can withstand drops from 2 meters and submersion in water up to 1.5 meters. IP68 / IP69K certifications for water and dust resistance, and MIL-STD-810H for extremes mean you can take this to construction sites, hike through mud or rain without breaking a sweat. A side-mounted strap lets you hold it like a tool, which comes in handy when you need both hands free but still want quick access.

The F113’s screen time begins with a 6.78-inch LCD panel with full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The 120Hz refresh rate makes browsing through maps and swiping between apps feel smooth, but the peak brightness is only 480 nits, so you’ll need shade on the brightest days. Colors pop with a 1500:1 contrast ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front provides further scratch protection. The 32-megapixel selfie camera has a notch at the top and takes great images in good lighting but blurs details when shadows appear.

Power comes from a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor, an 8-core microprocessor created on 6nm technology that blends efficiency and speed for everyday workloads. 12GB of physical RAM and an additional 24GB of storage allow you to run many apps without stuttering, from navigation software to video editing on the go. There is 256GB of base storage and a microSD card that can be expanded up to 2TB, allowing you to save offline maps, high-resolution images, and whole music collections. Android 15 comes out of the box with little extra apps on the home screen, making setup simple and updates available over the air.

The rear cameras form a triple act, with a 50-megapixel primary sensor taking the lead for daytime photographs, which come out clean and natural when the settings are ideal. There’s also a 5-megapixel macro lens that allows you to zoom in on super-close details like leaf veins or small print on a label, but it won’t work beyond a foot or two away. But the real lure here is the 64-megapixel infrared module, which has a three-watt IR illumination that emits light that is undetectable to the naked eye. When it’s pitch black, this system detects heat signatures from humans or animals up to 50 meters away, portraying the entire scene in black and white with incredible clarity, allowing you to notice forms and movement where a conventional phone would struggle to pick anything up. Then there’s the 160 lumen LED flashlight on the top edge, which provides a consistent 38 hours of beam time for trails or work zones, and while you’re using it, the phone’s rear LED ring flashes colors in tune with music or notifications for some fun.

Fossibot F113 Rugged Smartphone
The F113 is all about endurance; day after day, it simply keeps going owing to a 20,000 milliamp-hour battery that outlasts most of its competitors by a country mile. Expect to get more than a week of mixed use, including calls, streaming, and GPS tracking, before you need to plug it in. Recharging is also quick; 33 watts wired can replenish half the pack in approximately an hour, but there is no wireless alternative, keeping things simple and cable-focused. You also receive a single bottom-firing speaker that produces 110 decibels, which is more than loud enough to cut through the noise on a construction site or fill a tent with music. Dual SIM support and 5G connectivity ensure you stay connected even when you’re in the middle of nowhere, while Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 cover all bases.

Fossibot F113 Rugged Smartphone
The F113 is priced at $299.99 on the Fossibot website, down from $399.99, putting it significantly below the price of many other rugged phones that can’t compete with this model’s battery life and infrared capability.
