Duffy London’s Christopher Duffy unveils his latest creation, the “Abyss Horizon” table, a design inspired by the depths of the sea. Its circular design seems like an illusion at first, but as you get closer, you’ll see it’s made from layers of stacked wood and glass. “I was looking into sheets of thick glass at my glass manufacturer’s factory, and noticed how the material darkened as they added more layers – the same way the sea does as it deepens. “As much works of art as they are pieces of furniture, the Abyss Horizon tables will be on display at the PAD London Art and Design show in October, the New York Salon, Art and Design, Park Avenue Armory in November, and at Art Basel in Miami Beach in December. Each of these tables were made with sustainable materials sourced from the forest stewardship council in the U.K. Only 25 will be made and prices will be made available on application for ownership,” reports Hi Consumption.
