Soldiers that sustain critical wounds in battle will now have a much better chance at surviving the injury, thanks to DARPA’s gut-filling foam. There’s up to a 50% chance of potentially survivable combat wounds that could be impacted by DARPA’s Wound Stasis foam. Best of all, it’s removable from a wound by hand and comes loose in a single block without leaving any trace of its presence. DARPA was awarded a $15.5 million Phase II contract to the foam’s developer, Arsenal Medical.
