LA-based DJ Kid Chameleon wanted to put a high-tech twist on the Daft Punk helmet, so he decided to use an old Apple Mac Plus, iPad, bicycle helmet, and an electroluminescent display to build what you see above. Strangely enough, it’s “controlled by a iMac running Resolume Avenue, a MIDI keyboard, with a Wiimote in there somewhere for good measure.” Video after the break.
At 45 seconds into the video you can see the momentous occasion when he puts on the helmet for the first time, to the strains of the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
