Formula E Electric Gen3 Race Car Monaco
Formula E’s all-electric Gen3 race car made its debut in Monaco this past week, and it’s the first model optimized specifically for street racing. It will appear in Season 9 (2022-2023) of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, making full use of the advances in software engineering. Participating manufacturers include: : DS Automobiles (France), Jaguar (UK), Mahindra Racing (India), Maserati (Italy), NIO 333 (UK / China), Nissan (Japan), and Porsche AG (Germany).



The Gen3 race car will be the fastest Formula E race car yet with a top speed of over 200 mph (322 kph), with more than 40% of the energy used within a race produced by regenerating braking. It boasts approximately 95% power efficiency from an electric motor that produces 470 bhp (350kW), while being the first-ever formula car with both front and rear powertrains. Each race car has a super fast high speed charging capability of 500kW for additional energy during a race. As for aesthetics, the Gen3 is set to be the first formula car to use recycled carbon fiber in bodywork construction. In terms of luxury for an EV, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS definitely has it beat.
