There’s the BlackBerry Pi, and then the palm-sized GKD Pixel retro gaming handheld. Set to be officially revealed next month, this ultra portable console features a 2-inch IPS LCD screen, a D-pad, start / select keys, and four standard buttons.
Unlike other retro gaming handhelds, the GKD Pixel will reportedly run a custom Linux build, which opens the door to homebrew. It should easily be able to emulate all of the familiar consoles including the NES, SNES, Game Boy, SEGA Master System, SEGA Genesis, SEGA Game Gear, and the Atari Lynx. The aluminum-bodied device also reportedly has a 1,500 mAh battery, a USB-C charging port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD slot for loading games. Expect pre-orders to begin next month, priced at or around $79.99 USD.
