Here it is, the stunning HTC One, successor to the HTC One X. This sleek smartphone uses an all-aluminum frame with an antenna built into its backing; intended to give the device a premium feel in comparison to smartphones made with a plastic shell. On the inside, you’ll find a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 4.7″ 1080p Super LCD 3 display with 468 ppi, LTE connectivity where available, and 32GB or 64 GB of internal memory. Its camera includes HTC’s UltraPixel image sensor, which uses larger pixels internally that allow more light to be captured. The use of larger pixels improves overall image quality, especially in low-light environments. Unlike other high-end smartphones (which often use 8 megapixel cameras), the HTC One’s camera is only 4 megapixels in size: HTC’s designers determined that cameras with larger megapixel sizes have a higher signal-to-noise ratio, resulting in fuzzier images, and take poor low light images due to the difficulty of capturing light through the small pixels needed in order to maintain a thin form.
The camera also includes optical image stabilization, and is further enhanced by improvements to the camera app and the ImageSense 2.0 image processor. The HTC One’s audio system includes front-facing stereo speakers known as “BoomSound”, HDR audio recording, and Beats Audio.
