A Hyundai Ioniq 5 prototype was equipped with a MOBIS Tech ‘e-Corner System’ to demonstrate the future of mobility. This enables the vehicle to parallel park in a tight space by simply adjusting its wheel angle, and retreat from a dead end by making a 180° turn. We can’t forget about ‘crab walking’ either, which enables all four wheels turn 90° to perform parallel movement.
The ‘e-Corner System’ also features ‘zero turn’ technology, which rotates the front wheels inside while the rear wheels turn outside to perform a 360° idle turn. A new feature most probably haven’t seen is ‘diagonal driving’, a mode that rotates all four wheels to the same direction at 45°, helping to avoid obstacles or vehicles on the road smoothly. Lastly, ‘pivot turn” mode lets the driver choose any point for central axis to rotate the vehicle accordingly, similar to drawing a circle using a compass.
- Adventure Ready: Ninebot S MAX reaches 23.6 miles, 12.4 mph. Dual motors, 432Wh battery.
- Safety & Control: Stops on detecting unusual movements. Compact for easy trunk storage.
- Enhanced Experience: Add Gokart Kit for 23 mph speed. QR code assembly guide.
We are idealizing the e-Corner System in order to meet the demands for future mobility. We will secure different types of customized mobility solutions that can be applied in autonomous driving and PBVs to solidify our vision of reaching new heights as a mobility platform provider,” said Cheon Jae-seung, Head of FTCI (Future Technology Convergence Institute) at Hyundai Mobis.
