In Greek mythology, a Chimera refers to a monstrous fire-breathing hybrid creature of Lycia in Asia Minor that is composed of the parts of more than one animal. Tuning shop Fab Fours’ Kymera can be considered a chimera of sorts, as it has the body of a 2015 Chevy Colorado, but powered by a twin-turbocharged 12-valve Cummins turbo diesel. Its 5.9L engine generates over 650 horsepower, mated to a 47RH transmission from the Dodge Ram HD, paired with an Advanced Adapter Atlas 2 transfer case and AxleTech 4000 pneumatic lockers. Fab Fours took approximately two months to complete the project, partially because it now has a low-range ratio of 3.8:1 and a crawl ratio of 52.60:1, along with 20-inch custom wheels wrapped in 405/70 Alliance Multiuse 550 tires.
