We have seen the future of prosthetics, and they may all soon be 3D-printed at home. Simply put, a geeky father, Paul McCarthy, was looking for an inexpensive but functional prosthetic hand for his son Leon, who was born without fingers on his left hand. Thanfully, he stumbled upon a video about a prosthetic hand that anyone could make with a 3-D printer, based on a design by Washington state inventor Ivan Owen.
