San Francisco Pod

Peter Berkowitz, a 25-year-old illustrator living in San Francisco, decided to avoid paying high-rental fees in the city center, and designed a pod to live in. Measuring in at a svelte 8 x 3.5 x 4.5 feet, this tiny wooden box resides in a corner of his friend’s apartment, paying him just $400 per month. Inside, there’s a bed, storage shelves, a fold-out desk, a string of LEDs up top for ambient lighting, and a fan system for proper ventilation. Future upgrades including cork-based soundproofing.
