Due to severe flooding in eastern Australia, hordes of wolf spiders have made their way inland. That’s not all, “more than 8,000 Wagga Wagga residents were forced to evacuate their homes Tuesday, driven out by the rising waters of the Murrumbidgee River.” Experts say that this technique is called “ballooning” and used by the spiders for survival during floods.
