Nintendo 64 N64 24th Anniversary Portable Custom
The Nintendo 64 was first released on June 23, 1996 in Japan and today marks its 25th anniversary. This was also the last major home console to ever use game cartridges as its primary storage format until the Switch was released 21-years later. Since that time, many gamers have requested a portable version, and Gman Modz made it a reality.

Yes, this is an actual Nintendo 64 in portable form and compatible with original cartridges. It’s powered by a single 21700 lithium ion cell and finished in Tamiya Clear Orange paint to replicate the look of the original console. There’s also a real controller IC inside as well as an FRAM memory pack to let you save games.

Development for the N64 actually began in 1993 under the codename “Project Reality”, and despite its design being completed by mid-1995, its launch was delayed until 1996. The launch included three games: Super Mario 64, Pilotwings 64 and Saikyō Habu Shōgi (exclusive to Japan). When the GameCube launched in 2002, the Nintendo 64 was discontinued.
