REMspace Communication People Dream Dreaming
California-based startup REMspace have successfully demonstrated the world’s first communication system for people in dreams. More specifically, a system that uses specially designed equipment to allow two individuals to exchange a simple message when lucid dreaming.

Participants were sleeping at their homes on September 24 when their brain waves and other polysomnographic data were tracked remotely by a specially developed apparatus. Once the first participant was detected to have entered a lucid dream, it generated a random Remmyo – a dream language – word and sent it to him over a pair of earbuds. The participant then repeated the word in his dream, and the response was captured and stored on the server. Eight minutes later, the second participant entered a lucid dream. The stored message from the first participant was transmitted to her and she confirmed it upon awakening, marking the first-ever “chat” exchanged in dreams.

REMspace Communication People Dream Dreaming

Yesterday, communicating in dreams seemed like science fiction. Tomorrow, it will be so common we won’t be able to imagine our lives without this technology. This opens the door to countless commercial applications, reshaping how we think about communication and interaction in the dream world. That’s why we believe that REM sleep and related phenomena, like lucid dreams, will become the next big industry after AI,” said Michael Raduga, founder and CEO of REMspace.
