Skeletonics Exoskeleton Suit Robot
Exoskeleton suits are nothing new, but this one from Japan-based Skeletonics is unlike any other that we’ve come across. Standing 9-feet-tall and weighing in at 88-pounds, it basically transforms you into a giant robot, mirroring your movements precisely. The lightweight frame is possible since it does not use batteries or an external power source, but rather kinetic energy.

That’s right, this kinetic energy-powered exoskeleton relies on a mechanical mechanism based on the company’s patented ‘three-dimensional closed link structure,’ resulting in body movement with high degree of freedom. Unfortunately (or fortunately), there is no word yet on pricing or availability, although we could see it coming in handy when stocking high store shelves. What could make it even more useful? Covering the exoskeleton with this smart chain mail fabric that stiffens on demand.
