While it wasn’t a perfect run, USA’s “Bode Miller grabbed silver in the Super-G to go with his bronze from the downhill.” The main difference between the two events “is that downhill courses are set a little bit more open; skiers still need to make turns but not as many as in the Super-G where there’s an enormous amount of technical turning that is required.” Video after the break.

“One other big difference between the downhill and the super g, the skiers all get an opportunity to ski the course in race conditions. In the super g they just get to look at it, race morning and that’s the only chance they’ve seen that course before they get to ski on it.”
