Sundar Pichai Alligators Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Drone
It’s not everyday that you see an alligator snagging a drone out of mid-air, much less the footage being shared by Google CEO Sundar Pichai. This video was originally posted by TikTok user @devhlanger, and split into two parts. The first part features George the alligator catching the drone in mid-air and bring it down into the water. The second half has the large reptile trying to eat the device.

Angel Falls in Venezuela is currently the world’s tallest uninterrupted waterfall at 3,212-feet and with a plunge of 2,648-feet. The falls drop over the edge of the Auyán-tepui mountain in the beautiful Canaima National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Gran Sabana region of Bolívar State. Professional FPV drone pilot Ellis van Jason decided to capture some breathtaking footage of this natural wonder.

Boeing MQ-25 Drone Refuel F18
You may have seen refueling planes in-action, but what about an unmanned MQ-25 Stingray drone? Boeing recently tested its advanced manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) capabilities by communicating with other manned aircraft without the need for an air vehicle operator on the ground. This happened in a virtual environment with the MQ-25 communicating with the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye airborne command and control aircraft and the F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet.

Iceland’s tourism industry has been hard hit these past few years, going from nearly 2 million tourists who landed at Keflavik International Airport in 2019 to just 478,000 in 2020. Fast forward to mid-March 2021 when the country to fully vaccinated tourists, around 13 times as many people traveled to Iceland, compared to the very low numbers recorded in May 2020. However, the eruption on Fagradalsfjall might have had something to do with that.

Pink Lake Argentina Pollution
This bright pink lagoon in Argentina has not been digitally manipulated, and turned this bizarre color due to pollution. According to activists in this region, this phenomena is caused by sodium sulfite, an antibacterial product used in fish factories typically used to preserve prawns for export. Unfortunately, this color also comes with a foul smell that flows in with pollution from the Chubut river, which feeds the Corfo lagoon. Read more for the video and additional information.

Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 2021 Drone Fireworks Show Opening Ceremony
For those who watched the Tokyo 2020 Olympics opening ceremony live, you may have noticed a swarm of lights near the end that eventually formed a giant Earth. Those lights are actually a swarm of 1,824 drones that eventually segued into a rendition of John Lennon’s song “Imagine,” performed by Angelique Kidjo, Alejandro Sanz, John Legend, Keith Urban, and the Suginami Children’s Choir. AI Drone University of Zurich Algorithm Human Quadcopter
Even drones designed for professionals don’t have the longest battery life, so whether it be shooting a movie scene or searching for survivors in an emergency situation, they need to be ultra precise. This means that obstacles, like windows, doors, rubble, etc., cannot deter them from reaching their intended destination. University of Zurich (UZH) researchers have developed an algorithm that can guide a quadrotor on the quickest trajectory possible.

Fish Underwater Drone
At first glance, this may appear to be a fish sculpture or toy, but upon closer inspection, you’ll realize that it’s actually an underwater drone. The robot was developed by Boya Gongdao and first introduced at the Beijing Military Expo last month. It’s styled after the real-life arowana fish and moves just like its real-life counterpart, complete with a host of sensors as well as vision technologies. Vivo Smartphone Detachable Drone Camera

Vivo Mobile Communication filed a patent for an “electronic device” with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), and the 20-page documentation included sketches that showed what appears to be a smartphone with a detachable drone-like camera. At first glance, it looks like any other handset, but at the push of a button, a quadcopter device sporting a hidden camera system with a double camera, three infrared proximity sensors, four propellers and an extra battery, pops out.
