That’s right, you can now pick up a fully unlocked Apple iPhone in Hong Kong for $699 (4GB) / $899 (8GB). Short video demo after the break.

Unlocking is done using the Turbo SIM method, the shopkeeper loads up the Chinese or Japanese interface and special fonts so the names of Chinese songs appear correctly. Once unlocked all the features can be accessed from the music player to web browser and to making and receiving calls of course

According to Mac Daddy World, a group of coders have managed to develop a video conferencing application for the iPhone that utlizes its Wi-Fi and built-in 2.0-megapixel camera. Click below for more pictures. First image in gallery.

They used the iPhone toolchain developed by the iPhone Dev Team wizards to create their app, so it runs natively on the iPhone, capturing video from the iPhone’s camera, compressing and sending the stream to a server. The server relays the feed to the other iPhone and vice versa

This complicated hack basically consists of “an Xbox 360, a PC [Samsung Q1], a MagicBox XFPS, custom drivers, and a “black box” consisting of a hard coded microcontroller and spliced PS2 cable.” Video demonstration after the jump.
