Put simply, the Spam Cube stops junk (spam, viruses, phishing scams) before it even reaches your inbox or so it claims. Normal spam protection is free, but if you want upgraded “Security OnDemand” you’ll need to shell out $52/month. Microsoft has spent hundreds of millions developing its search engine technology and yet still trails Google (in relevance), but that’s soon about to change according to the company. Neil Holloway promises the new search engine will “dig down” in addition to returning relevant results. He plans on integrating MSN Search into their Messenger and Hotmail applications as well.

Google has recently updated their blog with more information on its upcoming payment system. This new system will enable Google Adwords, Google Video, Google Earth, and Google Store users to purchase directly from the company.

“We expect to add payment functionality to Google services where our users need a way to buy online. For us, it’s all about bringing our users a better online experience whether they’re searching or buying.”

We all knew that it was bound to happen sooner or later, Pixar is finally set to approve Disney’s $7 billion takeover bid tommorow (Jan. 23). This will make Steve Jobs the single largest shareholder in Disney with $3.5 billion in stock. Toy Story catapulted Pixar to fame in 1995 and its upcoming movie “Cars” is set to become a summer blockbuster.

Despite the impending takeover of Pixar, Robert Iger, the chief executive of Disney, pledged in November that “animation is, and will remain, at the heart and soul of Disney”.

Wireless internet can be found at airports, coffee shops, and schools worldwide. But now, Greater Taipei plans to become the world’s largest hotzone by providing the entire city of 28 square kilometers with wireless internet access.

Taipei Mayor Ma Ying-jeou said: “Every city in the world is striving to become a place with as many wireless Internet connection points as possible. In two days, Taipei will establish a wireless Internet zone that covers 5 percent of the city’s most-populated area. From June or July next year, around 90 percent of these areas will be provided with wireless access”.
