Limited to just 2-units worldwide and priced at $3.27-million, the Lamborghini Sogna just might be the rarest and strangest looking model ever. It’s based on the Lamborghini Countach, complete with an aluminum body and a centrally-mounted 5.2L engine that generates 455hp (335kW), mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. With its fighter jet-inspired front end, the $4.5-million Lamborghini Veneno made its official debut on the flight deck of the Italian naval aircraft carrier Nave Cavour this week in Abu Dhabi. It’s powered by a 6.5L V12 that produces 750hp, mated to a 7-speed single-clutch ISR transmission, complete with five different driving modes. We have seen the future of Lamborghini, and it’s the Diamante. Separated at birth, the Aventador and this futuristic Diamante do indeed look very similar, yet different at the same time. Here’s a first look at the Lamborghini Cabrera, the Gallardo successor. Its “piercing headlights contain twin Y-shaped LED daytime running lights reminiscent of the Aventador’s, while the front air intakes also bear resemblance to those of its big brother,” according to Car Advice Australia. This gold Lamborghini Aventador belongs right up there with these ultra luxurious Las Vegas villas / suites, Maldives resorts, first class airplane suites, private jets, and iPhone 5 handsets, but it’s not what you think. At $7.5-million, this supercar is merely a 1:8 scale model of its roaring real-life counterpart. According to World Car Frans, a master craftsman will carve the chassis from a 500-kg (1,102-pounds) block of solid gold and the final model will contain a whopping 25-kg (55-pounds) of the highly desirable precious metal. Six months after unveiling the Aventador, plans for a roadster version were leaked by the U.S. EPA after it included the model on a data sheet on its website. Lamborghini officially unveiled the Aventador J to the world at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The roofless and windowless concept car uses the same V12 engine as the standard.
