Ford Feel the View Window

Sometimes, it’s nice to just get out and go for a drive, purely for the scenery, but for the vision impaired that just isn’t possible…until now. Introducing Ford’s “Feel the View,” which is a window technology that reproduces high-contrast monochrome pictures on the side window using special LEDs. The vision impaired can then touch the window and feel the various shades of grey that will vibrate with a range of 255 intensities, enabling them to rebuild the scenes in their mind. Muraka Underwater Hotel

Built by Conrad Hotels and located in the Maldives, the Muraka underwater hotel is a sight to behold, literally. This submarine suite is anchored 16-feet below surface, and features all that you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. Boasting a large bedroom, living room area, luxurious bathroom, and a second floor for viewing purposes. One caveat: it’ll set you back a whopping $50,000 per night. Nintendo Famigun Light Gun

There was the NES Zapper, Super Scope 6, and now, this Nintendo Super Famicom “Famigun” concept. This heavy duty gaming peripheral features a bazooka-like metal / plastic design, a fold-out display for more precise aiming action, and even a light-up Super Mario Bros. coin box indicator for good measure. Kotisaari Island Tiny Finland

Mean Mower MK2

Approximately 4-years ago, Honda revealed the world’s fastest lawn mower, called the Mean Mower, and it set a Guinness World Record for the fastest speed reached by a lawn mower. Now, they are set to debut its successor, the Mean Mower Mk2. It’s now powered by a CBR1000RR Fireblade motorcycle engine that generates 192 horsepower, enabling it to hit a top speed of 134 mph, which 18 mph faster than its predecessor. How fast is it from 0-60 mph? Well, the first-generation model could hit 60 mph in a mere 4.0-seconds, so we could be looking a sub 4.0-second times for the Mk2. ICON 3D-Printed Home

ICON has developed a method to 3D print single-story 650-square-foot homes using cement in a mere 12-24 hours. Currently a 100-home community will be fabricated for residents in El Salvador next year. The Vulcan printer can print an entire home for $10,000, but eventually, the company plans to bring the cost down to just $4,000. “It’s much cheaper than the typical American home. It’s capable of printing a home that’s 800 square feet, a significantly bigger structure than properties pushed by the tiny home movement, which top out at about 400 square feet. Sometimes, it’s just too foggy out on the roads, or the visibility is near zero due to weather conditions, to clearly see traffic lights. However, a city in Ukraine has figured out a solution…LED-equipped traffic light poles that can be seen from afar, without requiring any special equipment. DroneHunter Drone-Hunting Drone

Not just any drone, the DroneHunter is armed with radar and a net to automatically intercept trespassing drones. This technology was developed start-up called Fortem Technologies and is based on DJI’s octocopter. The radars are extremely lightweight, while being super efficient, drawing the same power as an LED light. Timothy Bean, CEO of Fortem Technologies, said that its main use will be by the U.S. military to protect fighters and bases at a safe stand-off distance with little collateral damage. Cat S61 Smartphone

The Cat S61 smartphone is built unlike any other, as this rugged device is designed to withstand just about any disaster, including extreme drops, disastrous temperatures (-4° – 752° F), as well as water-resistance up to 3 meters for an hour hour. In addition to built-in FLIR thermal imaging, it’s also capable of accurately measuring distances using its integrated laser. Curtiss Warhawk Motorcycle

Specialty motorcycle manufacturer Curtiss has revealed “The Warhawk”, a stunning machined aluminum bike that is powered by an air-cooled, 2200cc v-twin producing 150 bhp and 160 lb-ft of torque. Not just for looks, it can hit a top speed of 165 MPH, thanks to a machined aluminum frame, girder forks, and a Curtiss-designed stacked gearbox with transparent covers.
