Just a few weeks away from its theatrical release, Up is Pixar’s latest animated feature. One of its characters, Dug, is actually a “talking dog, not a dog talking like a human.” Video after the break.

Boy, were we ever impressed. One of the most enjoyable characters in the film is Dug, a dog who can talk.

Up, a new CG film by Disney Pixar, “is directed by Monsters, Inc. director Pete Docter and features the voices of Edward Asner, Christopher Plummer, Jordan Nagai and John Ratzenberger.” Video after the break.

I had my doubts about the upcoming Pixar movie UP, but after watching the latest trailer – featuring airplanes, zeppelins, GPS, and dogs that can talk thanks to electronic collars – I think it has amazing potential.

This Pixar toy lamp “comes to life and hops around just like in the opening animation on Pixar’s movies.” No word yet on availability — priced at $40. Video after the break.

As you can see in the video, you can activate it with a motion sensor and a remote control, a key ring in the shape of the the ball.

Designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, the new Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, California can house over 1,000 employees on its 15-acre site. Inside, you’ll find a beautiful atrium, 600-seat THX theater, cafe, fitness center, and more. Here’s a Pixar video you may have never seen before: “Adventures of Andre and Wally B, an animated short made in 1984 by the Lucasfilm Computer Graphics Project, which would later be spun out as a startup company called Pixar.” Continue reading to watch.

The animation on the feature was truly groundbreaking at the time, featuring the first use of motion blur in CG animation. Lasseter pushed the envelope by asking for manipulatable shapes capable of the squash and stretch style, as earlier CG models had generally been restricted to rigid geometric shapes.
