Stimulant’s XRay app essentially “relies on the ability of the Surface to detect where the phones are, communicating that position to tell them what to display and in what orientation.” Video after the break.

XRay, a mobile app from Stimulant (who earlier blended a Wii Balance Board with a Surface) that provides similar functionality; letting you effectively see secondary images on the touch-table.

Now that Apple has announced a premium $19.99 games section for the app store, EA’s Need for Speed just might be one of the first titles to be released there. Slidetoplay provides us with a new trailer, which can be seen after the break.

Few other details are provided. The gameplay video was shot during the “Sneak Peek” events that EA held at Apple Stores in December of last year.

Putting a twist on the standard iPhone racing game, LightBike offers a vertical split screen mode that “puts both players’ hands in the game at once.” Video after the break.

Microsoft’s latest piece of entertainment software, Songsmith, “automatically builds an accompaniment that matches the rhythm and tonality of the voice input, so that instantly, the vocals are augmented and transformed into a music composition.” Videos after the break.

You start with a tune in your head and Microsoft Songsmith helps craft that tune into a defined product, complete with chord progressions.

Duck Hunt has officially landed on the iPhone, but possibly not for long. In the game, “you can choose to play the game with either one or two ducks in the air.” Available now, priced at $0.99 through the App Store. Video after the break.

The iPhone version’s developers acknowledge Nintendo in their application notes, and even call their emulator the “iPES” for “iPhone Entertainment System,” but that probably won’t be enough to keep it around.

Sling Media unveils the SlingPlayer Mobile for Apple’s iPhone, which “gives consumers their entire home TV experience, including local channels, local sports teams, video on demand, pay per view, etc.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

Any program that you can watch on your sofa back home, you can now watch via your iPhone using a standard network connection (3G Cellular, WiFi).
