What’s special about the gameplay is that the nine classes offered up in Team Fortress 2 are very unique in their advantages and play styles. Trying to use a Demoman in the same way that you tackle a situation with a Scout or a Spy is crazy. Hell, even when comparing the more brutal combat classes like the Pyro, Heavy, and Soldier, there are some big differences in movement, range, and accuracy

Slated for release on October 19th is Valve’s Orange Box, which consists of “Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2, HL2 Episode One, HL2 Episode Two, and Portal.” Gameplay video after the jump. Click here for more pics.

There are several differences from the original Team Fortress in the sequel, but the biggest of these definitely has to be the brilliant new art style. Some players obsessed with realism won’t like the change, but we’re in love with it. All of the textures and colors are enough to send you into a cartoony climax but much of the game’s visual success is also due to the animations.

Slated for release on October 9th, Team Fortress 2 will have players “go into battle as part of a cohesive squad of fellow warriors all bent on the same goal -� whether it’s storming a beach, demolishing a bridge or escorting a VIP to safety.” Video after the jump.

Begin by assuming one of twelve roles, each with unique strengths and weaknesses. If you’re looking for a straight-up fight, you’ll choose Marine or Commando. Prefer the shadows? You’ll make a cunning Spy or Sniper. Medics and Engineers support their teammates through bravery and ingenuity. Focus the raw force of your team’s talents through communication and strategizing
