You’ve seen the Honda S2000-powered Celica, now check out the Toyota FT-Se concept that was unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show this past week. Inside sources claim that this is a preview for a possible electrified Toyota MR2 successor in 2027 under the Lexus brand.
Set to be revealed at the Japan Mobility Show on October 26, the Toyota KAYOIBAKO EV concept has a modular, shipping container-inspired design that aims to represent the future of hyper efficient transportation solutions. Its ultra-expandable design makes it simple to adapt to suit different roles, especially with the ability to fully customize the hardware and software.
The Toyota Baby Lunar Cruiser concept, designed in collaboration with CALTY Design Research, may some day reach the Moon and beyond should the automaker be awarded a contract from NASA, ESA, JAXA, etc. It draws inspiration from the original FJ40 Land Cruiser as well as the real Lunar Cruiser being developed by the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and Toyota.

Engineers at the Toyota Research Institute (TRI) are using generative AI techniques to teach robots new behaviors, working toward their goal of building Large Behavior Models (LBMs). These robots successfully learned 60 difficult, dexterous skills, including pouring liquids, using tools, and manipulating deformable objects.
