MacRumors reports the Apple is currently developing two new iPhone models, and one of them will reportedly hit Verizon sooner than later. Put simply, “the new GSM version would be released this summer while the CDMA model for Verizon would not go into production until September.”

Verizon was in talks with Apple to gain access to the iPhone and the iPad, though no official news resulted. Verizon also purportedly claimed that its network is already ready for the iPhone and the associated network traffic it would bring.

That’s right, HTC has already begun shipping CDMA Nexus One phones to Verizon, so its release is imminent. Unfortunately, “it’s not believed to be a so-called world phone; i.e. it isn’t expected to include both CDMA and UMTS/HSPA connectivity for worldwide roaming use.” Video after the break.

The paper also suggests that HTC will ship the GSM version of the Nexus One to European carrier Vodafone “soon”.

Yes, the Nexus One phone will also be released on the Verizon and Vodafone networks in spring 2010. Unfortunately, Sprint availability has yet to be announced. Expect to shell out $179 for the phone with a 2-year service plan. Click here for first picture in gallery.

You can call the design the antithesis of the Droid: smooth, curved, and light, instead of hard, square and pointy. It feels long and silky and natural in your hand – even more so than the iPhone 3GS.

Verizon charged customer Ted Estarija a hefty $21,917 in overage charges after his son used 1.4 million kilobytes (1.33GB) of data. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, but Ted didn’t have a limited / unlimited data plan active for the phone. However, Verizon just may waive the fees due to the story going public. *Update* It works out to be approximately $16/MB and not $1.99/MB as originally stated.

Apparently, the father made the bankruptcy-worthy mistake of failing to set the family up on a real data plan.

AT&T says that when it comes to “downloading, speed matters,” and that’s why Verizon’s 3G network is nothing but a sluggish, headless Luke Wilson. Continue reading to “watch actor Luke Wilson download himself on AT&Ts 3G network.”

We’ve got to say that the results are fairly hilarious, but frankly, we would’ve rather seen that huge ad buy go towards a few more 3G towers here in the US of A.

Verizon has just announced that it will no longer sell the Verizon Hub. It’s basically a VoIP media phone that allows you to send text / photo messages to other handsets on the network and can also forward calls to another phone number. The $35/monthly subscription fee definitely contributed to its demise as well as forced advertisements that played after opening certain applications. Now that the DROID Eris has officially been released, the reviews have started coming in, and one of the first we came across was by MobileTechReview. They think “HTC’s Sense UI polishes Android’s rough edges with user-friendly software customizations, useful widgets, apps for popular things like weather, twitter and stocks and it greatly expands Android’s syncing capabilities.” Video review after the break.

Looks great and feels great in the hand. Fairly easy one-handed operation. Display is quite bright and sharp. Capacitive display is responsive and HTC has added pinch zoom in the web browser.

Insider sources claim that “Apple is in the final stages of prepping a bargain-basement priced iPhone, which would undercut the Droid, and bring the Droid launch party to a screeching halt.” In other words, you might be seeing a $99 iPhone 3G S (8GB) as early as next month.

Meanwhile, many bloggers have whipped themselves into a frenzy over a second Droid smartphone, which is being manufactured by the Taiwan company HTC.
