HTC Vive Cosmos Elite
The HTC Vive Cosmos Elite pre-orders were delivered today, and some may be surprised to find a digital code for Steam to download Half Life: Alyx beginning on March 23, 2020. It combines high definition graphics, ergonomic engineering, and modular features to offer the same refined capabilities as the original Cosmos, while external Steam VR tracking and advanced controllers enable precision and freedom of movement. Half-Life: Alyx Citadel
Half-Life: Alyx is set to be released on March 23rd, but Valve is letting players test a few environments from the game as Steam VR “home” spaces, or virtual areas where users can hang out. One SteamVR player discovered much more than Valve intended in the City 17 home space, as they were able to figure out a way to climb the massive Citadel structure using a program called Open VR. Half-Life: Alyx Gameplay
The Valve Corporation has just released three new Half-Life: Alyx gameplay videos, which is three weeks away from its retail launch on Windows PCs. All of this footage has been spliced together from various moments through the campaign, with only one the first scene taking place within the game’s earliest section. These aren’t designed to show tons of story, but rather Alyx’s VR movement, beat-by-beat gameplay, and of course, the gravity gloves. Read more for three videos and additional information.

HTC Virtual Reality Headset Proton
HTC’s Vive and Vive Cosmos line of PC-tethered VR headsets are well known in the gaming community, but now, the company is looking to expand into 5G cellular devices. First up, we have Project Proton (above), which is essentially a display headset that pairs with a portable external device for processing and connectivity. Panasonic HDR VR Glasses
Panasonic has developed the world’s first High Dynamic Range (HDR) capable ultra high definition (UHD) virtual reality (VR) eyeglasses that feature a Steampunk-inspired design. Not only do they offer a comfortable fit, it’s supposed to make users feel as if they were wearing eyeglasses. They come equipped with a micro OLED panel, co-developed by Kopin Corporation and Panasonic, that can achieve natural smooth images without “Screen door effect”, where the fine lines separating pixels become visible in the displayed image. 8K VR Headset CES NASA
VRgineers introduced the latest generation of the XTAL professional VR headset, which incorporates 8K resolution with a set of new features, including readability optimized for powerful GPUs such as the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 8000. What sets this headset apart from the others is the AR mixed reality module, and improved lenses that give it a 180° field-of-view. Teslasuit Glove Virtual Reality
Teslasuit revealed a full-body haptic feedback suit around a year ago, and today, they unveiled a glove that that lets you feel in virtual reality. That’s right, you’ll be able to feel virtual textures while it gathers biometric data and will make its official debut at CES 2020 in Las Vegas next month. Russia Cow VR Headset
Scientists have discovered a link between a cow’s emotional state and it’s daily milk production, and the RusMoloko farm in Moscow decided to go high-tech with its solution. That’s right, cows have been equipped with virtual reality headsets adapted for the structural features of cow heads to reduce their anxiety and improve overall emotional mood in the herd. Half-Life: Alyx has been officially introduced, and it’s a “full-length” experience that has been designed from scratch for VR headsets. Featuring all of the hallmarks of a classic Half-Life game: world exploration, puzzle-solving, visceral combat, and an intricately woven story that connects it all with the characters iconic to the Half-Life universe.
