The YouTube Rewind 2019 video looks back at all the biggest things that happened on the platform this year, and unlike last year, they included fan favorites like PewDiePie and Minecraft. Unfortunately, that hasn’t changed the number of dislikes, as the video already received over 3.3-million at the time of this writing, with just 1.6-million likes. If you’re constantly on YouTube, then the term mukbang might sound familiar, and for those who don’t know, it’s dreived from muk-ja for “eating” and bang-song for “broadcast” in Korean. It’s either a live-streamed eating show or a pre-recorded one where the host binge-eats on massive quantities of food. W Hotel in Washington, DC is now offering a $285 Sip and Slurp room service package just for that purpose, complete with a microphone and phone stand. Grumpy Cat Dies

Grumpy Cat, the famed internet celebrity for her permanent frown, died this week, aged 7. Despite being cared for by top professionals, Grumpy died on Tuesday from complications after a recent urinary tract infection. “Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile all around the world – even when times were tough. 24-Hours in VR Minecraft
Apollow of “Disrupt”, a popular YouTube channel, wanted to experience the future of gaming firsthand. So, he loaded up VR Minecraft on his PC and spent 24 hours inside the game, and then turning the recorded footage into a documentary for the world to see. For those who don’t know, Minecraft’s day-night-cycle is shorter than the real world, as 24-hours in the real world equals 72-days in-game. During this time, he did take 3 short sleep breaks with the headset and headphones on. Read more to see exactly what went down.

YouTube Jawed Karim First Video
Many are familiar with YouTube’s Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, but there was a third co-founder, Jawed Karim. He was the very first person to upload a video to the site, titled “Me at the Zoo” and uploaded April 23, 2005, which has been viewed over 65 million times as of April 2019. How did Karim meet Hurley and Chen? During his time working at PayPal, where he designed many of the core components including its real-time anti-internet-fraud system. Salomondrin McLaren Senna

YouTube star Salomondrin, whose real name is Alejandro Salomon, just took delivery of a brand new McLaren Senna days ago, but unfortunately, it has already been destroyed in a fire. On a recent Instagram story, he denied that the vehicle was involved in a collision, but most say the fire started due to an engine bay fire that quickly engulfed the Senna. If you want to stream video on the Nintendo Switch officially, there’s Niconico in Japan and Hulu everywhere else, but on November 8th, Google may finally be releasing a native YouTube app for the console. Elon Musk MKBHD

Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently teamed up with Youtube tech star Marques Brownlee, better known as MKBHD, to give the internet an up-close look at what goes on behind-the-scenes at the company’s Fremont factory. He may not be the first, as owners, VIPs, and the media, often get to tour the grounds, but this is one of the first starring a social media star. Six-year-old Ryan, the “host” of Ryan ToysReview, a popular toy-review channel on YouTube, reportedly earned $11 million (pretax) income in 2017. It all started when Ryan, then a 4-year-old fan of toy-review videos, asked his parents why he couldn’t also follow in their footsteps, and the rest is history. The channel started out slowly until a July 2015 video went viral, which featured Ryan opening and reviewing a box containing more than 100 toys from Pixar’s “Cars” series.
