OpenOcarina, the unofficial native PC port of the legendary N64 game, is now available for download. Don’t confuse this with emulation, as this is a real PC game using the original assets (not included), complete with widescreen support, resolution scaling, mod support, and even 60 FPS. For legal reasons, the original assets could not be bundled with the files, so a copy of the ROM image for a specific, rare version of Ocarina of Time, is required.
Developers are working on getting the PC port to work with a ROM of the retail 1.0 release of the game instead, but for now, the project only has Windows support, with MacOS and Linux in the works. The application itself is built on SDL2 (Simple DirectMedia Layer), which means ports to other operating systems are possible, but require a third-party contributor to get them working. Download the files here, which still requires you to use Visual Studio 2019+ in order to create an executable build.
