These might look like scenes from Interstellar, or just the cosmos, but they’re actually Ernie Button’s photographs of the remnants of a glass of scotch. That’s right, the Phoenix-based photographer captures the crystallized residue of single malt scotch at the bottom of a glass for his latest series called “Vanishing Spirits.” He began to add colored lighting to the ambient background to emphasize the textures and grains of the crystals.
