Launched yesterday, Crysis 2 is set in the year 2023 (New York City) and provides players with the ability to freely customize weapons as well as abilities. Best of all, it features an all-new upgraded Nanosuit 2. Video review after the break. Here’s the bottom line:

Despite those complaints, Crysis 2 succeeds. It’s a beautiful, engrossing experience that avoids the anemic, scripted playbook made law by the 500 pound shooter gorilla.

EA demonstrated Crysis 2’s multiplayer mode at Gamescom yesterday, and the showing “included a persistent experience system allowing players to upgrade their nano-suit armor as well as vehicles including helicopters.” Video after the break. Click here for more pictures.

There also appeared to be a focus on verticality in Crysis 2’s multiplayer map design, playing on the story’s New York setting.

EA has just released two new Crysis 2 screenshots that show in-game footage. Sure, you’ll need some seriously powerful hardware to have it running smoothly while looking this nice, but the screenshots are still conversation pieces nonetheless. Continue reading for one more image.

Instead, appreciate the photorealism of Crytek’s New York set sequel, which looks a lot like this in-game – provided you have the hardware to make Crysis 2 run this well, of course.
