Gavin Free and Daniel Gruchy, better known as The Slow Mo Guys, joined Kentucky Ballistics to capture the muzzle flash of a monstrous 950 JDJ rifle cartridge at 100,000 fps in ultra slow motion.
Attempting to fire the 950 JDJ Fat Mac is an adventure in itself, but Daniel didn’t have too much problems with it. Technically speaking, the .950 JDJ cases measure approximately 70 mm in length, and are based on a 20×102mm Vulcan case shortened and necked up to accept the .950 in bullet. The projectiles are all custom-made and typically weigh 3,600 grains.
