Vishnu Performance Systems unveils a new Mitsubishi EVO X engine add-on that helps the car drop “0.3 second from its quarter-mile time.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Launching from a standstill, the Vishnu Evo’s stock clutch takes quite a beating but hooks up well enough to accomplish a 4.6-second sprint to 60 mph � 0.3 second better than stock. The quarter-mile time is trimmed to only 12.7 seconds

Mitsubishi unveils its US-spec 2008 Lancer Evolution at the LA Auto Show, boasting a turbocharged 4B11 engine that “produces more power than its predecessor: 291 hp at 6,500 rpm (vs. 286 hp at 6,500 rpm) and 300 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,400 rpm (vs. 289 lb.-ft. at 3,500 rpm).” Video after the break.
