Alienware is mostly known for its crazy gaming PCs and laptops, but it’s also dabbling in the gaming tournament arena. Dell presents the Alienware M11X, the ultimate gaming notebook, which “demonstrates the graphics power of a 15-inch laptop in an 11-inch form factor.” Even more surprising, this “netbook-sized ultraportable managed 6,000 to 7,000 scores in 3DMark, which adds up to 50fps performance in Crysis and 30fps in Call of Duty at the highest settings.” Video after the break.

Dell representatives say the M11x should achieve over six hours of battery life in its lower-graphics function mode and attain around two hours of intense gaming time in its other mode.

Alienware’s m17x is claimed to be the world’s fastest 17-inch gaming notebook as of yet. Featuring a 1920 x 1200 display, an Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme processor, up to 4GB DDR2 memory, 2 x 250GB HDDs in RAID 0, and dual NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX graphics cards in SLI. Prices start from $2,949. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Other worthy tidbits from the show: They’re not planning on a MacBook Air competitor. They’re big-boned and proud of it. Also, they’re looking at making some cheaper notebooks for more mainstream gamers that can’t afford to drop $3k on a sweet gaming notebook

At just $999 (base model), the Alienware Aurora desktop can be configured with “one of four AMD CPUs, a liquid-cooling system, twin 512MB 3870 X2 GPUs, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a few terabytes of HDD space, a Blu-ray reader, Ageia PhysX processor and your choice of colored enclosures.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

Naturally, tricking this thing out with all of the higher-end options is going to make the price ridiculous in a hurry, but a $999 base is about as good as it will get for an Alienware
