Edmunds touts the 2009 Corvette ZR1 as “a machine that is engaging to drive, capable of making insane numbers on the test track and also a legitimate road car.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

After three dyno runs, power peaks of 505 hp at 6,200 rpm and 494 lb-ft of torque at 4,200-4,300 rpm were recorded. That’s right, it makes over 500 hp at the wheels.

The Corvette ZR1 boasts a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine that generates 650hp, rocketing it from 0-60mph in only 3.4-seconds. Video after the break.

Near the end of the video we do get one clip of the ZR1 accelerating onto a highway, which is the closest we get to a full on aural assault from the engine. Only a couple of months remain until we expect the production car to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January
