Valve’s Half-Life 2 for Mac commercial teaser pays tribute to the legendary Apple 1984 ad. While the game may be a bit dated, it’s still one of PC Gamer’s all-time best games. Continue reading to watch.

It’s so appropriate yet sad that Alyx is tasked with announcing the six-year old Half-Life 2’s Mac launch. But really there’s no shame in playing the some-what old Half-Life 2 even today.

If Valve released Half-Life 2 for the PC or game consoles of today, this is what it would look like. This update basically “adds HDR lighting, new models, new textures, an upgrade to the Orange Box engine and even some new Steam achievements to the aging PC version.” Video after the break.

You’ve seen the Geometry Wars demo, now watch someone play Half-Life 2 on Microsoft’s Project Natal. Due to it being an early prototype, the “control scheme seems simultaneously intuitive and awkward.” Video after the break.

Still, while the verdict may be out on how well Natal will handle first person shooters, it’s pretty darn cool to see a player control a complex game without a controller between them and the screen.
