Midway has just released new Unreal Tournament 3 Xbox 360 — in which “over two dozen weapons and vehicles have been upgraded” — screenshots for your viewing enjoyment. Click here for first picture in gallery.

The 360 version, if you don’t recall, will include five new levels, two new characters, a splitscreen mode and all of the previously released downloadable content.

According to Midway, Unreal Tournament 3 for the “Xbox 360 version will feature five “exclusive” maps, split screen capabilities and two new characters.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

We still don’t have an exact release date for Unreal Tournament 3 for Xbox 360, but we’re getting closer. The news out of Midway’s Gamers Day is that we can expect the title to appear this “summer.”

At its core, Unreal Tournament 3 offers exactly what its predecessors (specifically UT ’99 and ’04) did to make it so popular: preposterous action at blindingly fast speeds. It’s all over the top, soaked in blood, nonsensical (hoverboards and stealth tanks?) and bathed in an electric light

You get six modes, not including campaign, with UT 3: deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag (CTF), vehicle capture the flag (VCTF), warfare, and duel. You’ll notice that’s not the same list as UT 2004’s modes, since it’s noticeably missing assault, something I’m not too bent out of shape about
