In the hand the controller feels light, and it feels comfortable. It’s most similar to the old GameCube controller, really, but much wider and with more buttons.

Zelda Skyward Sword (Wii) is the first game in the series to introduce “full motion control enabled by the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which synchronizes player movements with Link’s actions while offering intuitive play control.” This game will hit stores in Q4 2011. With the Wii MotionPlus accessory, every movement of Link’s sword matches the player’s motion with exact precision. If players motion left to right, Link swings from left to right. The precision play control is applied to enemies as well, as players must contemplate strategy when battling opponents that actively try to defend against attacks.

Amazon is selling the Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board for just $79.99 shipped, originally priced at $99.99. This “game contains a large number of activities that fall into a variety of categories, including: yoga, aerobics, strength training and balance games.” Product page.

Start by creating your personal profile. Set up your Mii, enter your height and let the Balance Board take your weight. In just a few short seconds, you’ll know your current Body Mass Index (BMI), a measurement used to determine your Wii Fit age.

This accessory isn’t just for games anymore, as the Ithaca College Tots on Bots project “aims to mobilize infants with physical disabilities by setting them atop a “mobile robot” equipped with a Wii Balance Board to let the young operator steer by leaning.” Videos after the break.

Additionally, the vehicle uses sonar to avoid nasty crashes and a remote control that an adult can use to take control.

Good news, EA is set to release NBA Jam HD, a new high-definition installment of the high-flying, arcade-style basketball game. The bad news is that EA is only planning on launching it on the Wii. First released in 1993 by Midway, the original NBA Jam was written entirely in the assembly language by designer / programmer Mark Turmell. Continue reading for the trailer.

Built by a Ben Heck forum member, this custom Wii laptop took around 3-months to build, at a cost of $500-$600USD. It features a full-sized keyboard, LCD display, and extra cooling in the form of mini fans. Video after the break.

Nintendo Wii owners who already have a Netflix subscription will not have to pay for instant movie streaming. Unfortunately, you’ll still have to use an “instant streaming” disc, which will be mailed out this spring. For those who don’t want to wait for the official service to launch, you can also use PlayOn for Netflix streaming. Continue reading for a video demonstration.

They will then be able to use the Wii’s motion controller to navigate through their Netflix account and pick what they want to watch. This set-up is similar to the way Sony’s PlayStation 3 currently streams Netflix programs.
