Back in 1985, hard drives were gigantic and not to mention insanely expensive (40MB/$40,000) as shown in the above image. That was coincidentally the same year Microsoft released Windows 1.0 which sold for $100 ($177.47 with inflation) a piece. I like how the display behind it has a huge magnifying glass that almost makes you think hard drives now days (2006) are microscopic which they really aren't...yet. Source: [OhGizmo]

Who would pay $400 for a 6GB drive today? Unless maybe it was a USB Flash drive or something, but that still seems to be pushing it.

Never thought I'd see the day when you'd see computer antiques. I think I have an old TRS-80 lying around somewhere. Wonder if I can get that much for it.

$400 for a 6GB harddrive? Thats a ripoff by 2006 standards! That should probably be dated 1996.

23
eventually we'll have brain tissue for harddrive/processor combo, which can probably hold a couple million TigaBytes!
24
WTF!?!?!? a 6 GB hard drive is not $400! an ipod with 40 GB is only 300, and thats not even a hard drive by itself...

Wow gigantic compared too today. I have a question though. What computer store is selling only 6 GB for $400!? I think that only 6 GB should be way, way less than that. Am I missing something?
