Credit Card Sized Computer For 2006?

Imagine being able to store a fully functional computer inside your wallet, this technology may not be too far off according to Chandanlong. Be assured that it will come loaded with features like Bluetooth, GPS Receiver, Windows XP (Vista?), and have buit-in Wi-Fi despite its size.
"AIO card is a thin client. It is like a remote display on a card over wireless. It means all its processing, and storage remains on a powerful server. It uses the same thin client technology found in Sun Rays. It only needs a small processor that does nothing but send the touch and other inputs to a server, and the server sends the display and sound back. Since all the storage is on a server, it gives you virtually unlimited storage for your data, pictures and songs. (unlikes iPods and mp3 players which have a limited memory)"

Holy crap......thats amazing.....
2
Thats bull... But if it did happen, it would cost alot. It would be awsome though. It looks like you would need a stylus.
3
this isnt real... read the link: "It is not an actual or planned product... I am just tossing an idea, catch it and build it if you want"
4
it looks like an ipod nano was photochopped to look like a computer
5
You'd definetly need a stylus.....but other than that, I don't see why it wouldn't be somewhat possible. All it would be is a small screen with a wireless connection. A true remote desktop. As thin as a credit card might be a stretch, but able to fit into a wallet.....?
6
that right there could revolutionize apple. imagine if all the people who have wireless internet, like college campuses, and urban hotspots, started to use those rather than ipods. apple would be screwed

word
8
how the fuck
9
sure it would be great but what im sure it will cause just as much problems. Why make a credit card sized computer when you cant get a normal sized one right?

Doesn't matter if it's real or not... all it is is a little LCD with Remote Destop loaded onto it... You need to be in a wireless hotspot to use it or on the same network as the computer you are veiwing even. I'm not impressed by this idea, and I don't think anyone should be.

Dumbest idea ever... my one arm will not be able to hold and control it at the same time (IT Retards)
12
it would break soo easy.... but it would be cool
13
not gonna happen
14
I would defiently buy one if i had the money if it did come out.. I think it will be a long time until something of this nature is produced..
15
id buy it
16
I'd probobly break it because it is so thin.
17
This is sick...it's probably gonna be expensive if it happens, but it's sick. Only in movies do they have this kind of stuff.
18
woah is ther porn on that thing?
19
Heh it isn't impossible this will most likely happen. :P

this computer itself, as shown, is physically impossible to make. Take an ipod nano for example. The size of it, and the most they could get was 500 or so songs. A computer this size would be so excruciatingly slow and you would barely be able to store anything. This computer would be a waste of dough.

This honestly looks like a revolutionary idea. Will it be out and as common as a PDA and laptop in 1 year? No, but I'll bet by 2016 they will be just as common as smartphones, PDAs and Laptops.
22
Man, this is the first actual cool looking product I've seen here...Hope it comes to life.
23
i hope we can yous this to make more SYOUVEES and waste more oil
24
no it could process quite fast if all the processing is hosted wirelessly on a server. but what happens when you arent at a hot spot, youre screwed, itd be useless. and the server would have to be so amazingly large and extremely fast itd be hard to keep up with the growing amount of space youd need as more and more people bought it. this is very possible but someones going to have to put in alot of effort

This isn't impossible for the near future. I'm sure soon these will be more common than we would think. As thin as a credit card? Maybe not exactly, but pretty thin. It would definitely be prone to breakage, so I dont know how they will overcome that, but It would be possible.
